The Journalism Club for Kids!

Registration is now open!

I’m thrilled to share that I will be leading a series of after-school workshops for local children this winter at Hudson Lab School!

Together we’ll make zines, brainstorm story ideas, write opinion pieces, report on breaking news, and go to press! Just a heads up that there are very limited spots for the general public, so if you’re interested, please register as soon as possible:

The Fine Print

Ages & Times: Kindergarten — 2nd grade will meet from 3:15pm - 4:10pm EST. 3rd — 5th grade will meet 4:20pm — 5:15pm EST.

Dates: 12 classes will run from Thursday, January 5, 2023 through Thursday, March 30, 2023 (there is no class on February 23, 2023).

Location: Hudson Lab School, 185 Old Broadway, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY 10706

Instructor: Rebecca Pitts

Capacity: 8 students in each class

Price: $360

Class Description: This hands-on journalism class introduces young writers and illustrators to the art of making zines and newspapers. 

Capacity: Spots are reserved for Hudson Lab School students and non-Hudson Lab School students. If the class has reached capacity there may still be openings, so please sign up for the WAITLIST.

Refunds: Withdrawal requests prior to the start of a class can either be refunded minus a $50 processing fee, or the full amount held and applied toward a future course.
